While one driving joy in familiar tales is being able to experience them again and again, a real treat here was the use of puppetry to examine how truly bizarre and grotesque the title character truly is. Animated by the distractingly irresistible Zander Raphael, I found myself nearly rooting for the cursed little thing. Adam Frost Venrick is both hilarious and commanding as the King. WEPA!! While I came in not knowing what to expect , I left even more pleased than I knew I would be. These characters are rich in it all- juicy Boricuan dialects, roller rink moves, and tales of shadowy frustrated parents doing their best to pass on generational trauma. Still, our protagonist closes these few pages of his story triumphantly, and we cheer him on through laughter and tears. SUPER FRESH🕺...
