TESTIMONIALS FROM PERFORMERS
"A big shoutout to producer/techie/co-creator Matt Quinn and publicist/co-creator Bertha Rodriguez for pulling off their inaugural theatre festival, 30 Minutes Or Less. Due to the fires, they almost canceled their two-weekend event at Steph Feury Studio Theatre. From my perspective as both performer and judge, I'm so happy they decided to plow forward! And what a success, both in execution AND quality. I saw about half of the shows and most exceeded my expectations. And what I especially liked about this shorter format is the audience was spared the torture of dragging scene transitions and overlong vanity projects. In many standard length shows, I would often find myself fantasizing about shooting everyone on stage and in the audience as well as myself from either enduring 1) the horror of those slow, dead minutes between scenes or 2) an unnecessarily long play. Not here! These were 15, 20, 25-minute blasts of solid entertainment and a diversity in content and performers. Furthermore, the efficiently run 15-minute load-in/load-out break between shows allowed audiences to enjoy stacking multiple performances within 90 minutes and for a very reasonable price. I also enjoyed the adjacent taco bar "Tu Madre" and the Indonesian vegan, gluten-free ice cream shop, "Awan." Overall, a great success and I'm happy the festival is returning next year! Bravo to Matt & Bertha's vision, congratulations to all the award winners and no, I wasn't paid to write this" -Brian Knudson
